Family Law

Families are the building blocks of our society, our schools, communities, churches, cities and towns.  Families are created in many ways, through marriage, birth, and other means. However, many times, families are complex and can created situations that require the assistance of legal counsel to resolve.

We offer family law services in a variety of areas, including the preparation of pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, dissolution, divorce, assistance in obtaining child support, custody and mediation services.

  • Pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements are contracts setting forth the property brought into the marriage by the parties and outlining the terms and a condition of property settlement in the event the marriage ends in divorce.  Our office will consult with the parties prior to the wedding to create an agreement that is fair and equitable. Pre-nuptial or post-nuptial agreements are very good tools to aid in the termination of a marriage should such become necessary.
  • If the parties become incompatible and agree to terminate the marriage, either a dissolution or divorce becomes necessary.  We offer representation of parties contemplating divorce or dissolution. We will review any pre-nuptial or post-nuptial agreements, consult with you and provide information regarding the dissolution or divorce process and keep you informed at every stage of the litigation.  If minor children have been born during the marriage, we can assist you in determining which parent will have physical and legal custody of the child(ren) and which parent will be responsible for the payment of child support.
  • If minor children have been born, but the parents were not married, child support is still available to the residential parent.  We can assist you in obtaining support for your minor child(ren) and represent you in the legal process to receive a child support order that is enforceable by the courts.

Our firm covers a wide range of practice areas. Reach out to us for your consultation.
